Route outlined for the 2 dies de Trial Clàssic

A 25km route with Sant Julià de Loria as operations core and about twenty areas more or less demanding

It will be on the 28th, 29th and 30th June when will take place the second edition of the 2 dies de Trial Clàssic of Sant Julià de Loria. This competition, despite not counting for any championship, neither national nor international, was heartily welcomed in its first edition last year by all the trial competitors riding classic motorbikes.

The organizers of the event, Andorra Trial Club (ATC), poured all the knowledge obtained on the first edition to increase the race’s organization level. Their wish for the near future is for this event to become unavoidable for all the riders, who preserve motorbikes considered historic.

It is important to mention that the first edition of the 6 days of Scotland’s trial took place in 1909. Furthermore, the European Championship was raced between 1968 and 1974 and the first World Championship was held in 1975.
With high certainty, on the last weekend of June in Sant Julià, we won’t see any of the motorbikes that entered the first ‘Scottish’. However there is some degree of probability to be able to enjoy watching in action motorbikes and/or riders from the beginning of the afore mentioned championships.

The route for the 2019 edition of the 2 dies de Trial Clàssic has been designed in the surroundings of Sant Julià de Loria, city which will accommodate from Friday (28th June) the technical and administrative verifications of these motorbikes with a long history behind them.

The event will start at Plaça de la Germandat in the Andorran city. The riders will drive through Nagol and Certés before going on the track to descend to Aixirivall and the river Faucellers.
Afterwards, they will climb towards the forest of La Rabassa reaching an altitude of 2200 m. The way back to Sant Julià de Loria will take the riders through Naturlàndia, Territori Toni Bou. Before getting to the parc ferme located at the starting area (Plaça Germandat), the race will cross the village of Auvinyà.

Following the short description of the route, it is possible to guess that the areas will be variable according to the place where they are set. Thus, at the beginning the obstacles to overcome will be the slippery and loose rocks, followed by the water hurdles in the river Faucellers and the dirt and considerably big rocks in the higher section of the route. It is important to keep in mind that each area will have different paths according to the category of the riders.

Therefore, the riders wearing yellow numbers will follow the softer or easier paths, whilst the difficulty will increase for those wearing green numbers and the riders in blue numbers will have to face maximum difficulty.

The prevision for the first day of the competition is to get through 20 areas in a maximum of 8 hours. On Sunday, however, there will only be 19 areas to be overcome in the same amount of time.

Even a month before Sant Julià de Loria is invaded by trial motorbikes up to 40 years old, the members of the Andorra Trial Club are looking after every single detail so the riders, who will decide to sign up for the race, will enjoy two spectacular days of an event which, as it’s been said, wants to continue to grow with each edition.
